The following is a
good paint and varnish remover:
Acetone
....
35 parts
Benzene
... 40 parts
Methyl alcohol
..... 25 parts
Wax (refined) 4% by
weight.
Wax is dissolved in the benzene, the acetone and alcohol is added slowly,
stirring continuously. This mixture will soften the paint or varnish film in
a short time, it may then scrape off.
