Color Stamps for Rough Paper
It has hitherto been
impossible to get a satisfactory application for printing with rubber stamps
on rough paper. Fatty
vehicles are necessary for such paper, and they injure
the India rubber. It is said, how ever, that if the rubber is first
soaked
in a solution of glue, and then in one of tannin, or bichromate of potash,
it becomes impervious to the oils or
fats. Gum Arabic can be substituted for
the glue.
